APRIL 2026
This months challenge topic is Macro / Close-up photos (Hand in by 30th April)
13th - Baggy Point
Meet at 7pm in the National Trust car park for a stroll to Baggy Point to watch the sun setting behind Lundy at 8:10pm. Optional drinks in Croyde after.
20th - Velator Quay
Meet in the car park at 7pm for a wander along the creek; sunset 8:20pm. Optional drinks in Braunton after.
27th - Watermouth Harbour
Meet in the car park at 7pm - note that charges apply. The tide will be half in/out, and the sun will set directly in line with the inlet at 8:30pm. Optional drinks at the Sawmills after.
May 2026
This months challenge topic is Mono Photography (hand in by 31st May).
4th - Bideford
Meet at 7pm by the Kingsley Statue at the corner of Victoria Park, near the Hockings van, for a wander along the quayside and streets of the town.
11th - Ilfracombe Harbour
Meet at 7pm by Verity . The tide will be out, so we can access the beach as well as the quay. Plenty of opportunities for refreshments.
18th - Pilton
Meet at 7pm at the Church archway to explore the interesting architecture of this area. Repair to a pub after for a chat.
25th - The Valley of Rocks
Meet at 7pm at the lower car park in the valley, for goats, rocks, and sunset photography.
June 2026
This months challenge topic is Street Photography (hand in by 30th June).
1st - Barum Boxing Club, Rolle Quay
We have been allowed to join the adult club members from 7pm for some action photo opportunities. An exciting opportunity to shoot something different.
8th - Braunton Burrows
Meet at Sandy Lane central car park at 7pm for a walk through the dunes. Should be butterflies, as well as landscapes.
15th - Arlington Meadows
Meet at 7pm in the car park to explore the surrounding meadows rather than the estate. Hopefully wildflowers and grasses.
22nd - Hele Bay
Meet at 7pm on the seafront by the arches. It will be low tide so plenty of beach to explore, and hopefully a good sunset. Car park free after 6pm. Drinks after in the Hele Bay Bar.
29th - Hartland Quay (and possibly Hartland Abbey)
An opportunity to arrange a few car shares for this longer trip, with an afternoon departure giving time for more exploration, and an early evening departure just to the quay for those who do an honest days work.
July 2026
This months challenge topic is Human Body Parts (hand in by 31st July).
6th - Exmoor
Another expedition in several cars, heading in the first instance to a spot halfway between Exford and the coast, where there are pools for dragonflies, and also deer and ponies. Times and lifts to be arranged.
13th Combe Martin Harbour
Meet at 7pm in the main car park behind the beach. Tide will be midway, and dropping, so we can explore safely. Drinks at sunset in the Focsle Inn.
20th Porlock Weir
We will arrange car shares for this longer jaunt, and times can be arranged to suit everyone.
27th - Morte Point
Meet in the Mortehoe car park at 7pm for a walk out onto Morte Point and up the hill for views back over Mortehoe towards Woolacombe. Car park free after 6pm.
August 2026
This months challenge topic is Shallow Depth of Field (hand in by 31st August).
3rd - Appledore
Meet at 7pm in the main car park. A sunny summer evening could mean gig rowing, the brass band playing, and lots of street photo opportunities.
10th - Marine Drive, Woolacombe
A choice of a walk down to the beach through the dunes, or a hike up the downs for the views from the top.
17th - Holdstone Down
Meet at 7pm in the Car Park for a short stroll up the hill to the coast path, where hopefully the heather will be in flower.
24th - Sunflowers
We are hoping to be able to arrange an evening in a sunflower field, but this is still to be arranged.
31st - Barnstaple streets
Meet in the Cattle Market car park (free after 6pm) for a walk around the town. There should be architecture and street photography opportunities.
SEPTEMBER 2026
September sees the transition to our winter programme. More information will be published nearer the time.
